Matt Evans
Matt Evans was formerly Head of nbn™ local for Victoria and Tasmania at NBN Co.
Prior to joining NBN Co, Matt worked with the company’s delivery partners for seven years to help deliver the nbn™ Fixed Wireless network across Australia, conducting more than 400 community information sessions and hundreds of meetings with councils, MPs, businesses and residents in regional communities and on the fringes of capital cities.
Before this, he ran his own business for several years securing approval for mobile towers and, during this time, managed the Industry Association for Australia’s mobile network telecommunications carriers.
As Head of nbn™ local for Victoria & Tasmania, Matt and his team worked closely with industry, community and government stakeholders to provide updates on the nbn™ broadband access network rollout, and promote the positive outcomes and opportunities high-speed internet can bring to communities in regional Australia.
Matt has worked for more than 20 years in community and stakeholder engagement in the telecommunications industry. He is a qualified Town Planner, and a former Mayor and Councillor for six years with Monash City Council in Melbourne’s east. He has also been a member of the Victorian Councillor Conduct Panel for more than 10 years.
