Shoot For The Stars Competition

We’re excited to announce our winners in the Shoot for the Stars competition.

Thank you to all the budding artists who submitted an entry.

We asked school children aged 5 – 12 years to provide an original painting or drawing showing ‘how the nbn™ network will make Australia a better country’.

As well as a national winner, the competition judges chose winners from each state. All winners will be awarded with a commemorative plaque for their school and will receive, along with a parent or guardian, a trip to Questacon, The National Science and Technology Centre.

Our national prize winner chosen from the finalists will have their illustration displayed on a rocket which will transport an nbn™ satellite into orbit. The winner's school has worked with nbn to name that satellite.

Our national winner is:

Bailey Brooks, aged 6 from the Northern Territory.

Our national winner and their school, Alice Springs School of the Air have named the nbn™ satellite Sky Muster.

Sky Muster will be the first of two satellites which nbn will send into space, with the launch currently scheduled within the next year. This satellite will play a crucial part in levelling the playing field between city and bush by helping to deliver fast broadband services to around 200,000 homes and businesses in Australia.
