Before you upload designs to nbn, please ensure you follow the relevant build process. The developer or their representatives should know the process to follow – you can contact nbn and quote your stage application reference if you are unsure.
Additional design support tools are available to assist with creating the pit and pipe designs if you are not familiar with them.
Developers are able to submit designs up to 20MB per file. Once the design has been submitted, nbn will review and contact you if any amendments are required. You can only commence the build of pit and pipe works or pathway works using the approved pre-construct designs by nbn.
As of January 1, 2016, using the online tool will be compulsory for all new and amended design submissions. The tool has been developed to help streamline the design review process, and allows for multiple files to be uploaded
Please note: As per the Developer Agreement, once you submit your designs, and if nbn has no further comments, nbn will invoice you for the connection of your development – 30 day payment terms apply.

As-built designs and Notice of Practical Completion (PCN)
It is nbn's responsibility to install the nbn™ broadband access network once the design and build processes have been completed by you, and the PCN is certified by nbn.
By submitting an as-built design and/or a PCN, you are notifying nbn that you are ready for a site inspection as Practical Completion has been achieved. This means you now agree to either transfer the ownership or grant license to nbn, for pit and pipe works or pathway works. Once your build is approved, you will also receive a Certificate of Practical Completion.
You must read the relevant as-built handover checklists and PCN checklists below for your development type. If you submit a PCN prematurely and if practical completion has not been achieved as determined by nbn, you may incur reasonable costs for a secondary inspecting of the works.
If your application is for Multi Dwelling Units (MDU), then you can proceed directly to submit a PCN online.
